Paul Ouma
Paul is an industry-experienced trainer for executive business leaders, an ICF-certified leadership and business coach, and an accredited mediator. He specializes in advising family business owner-managers on sustainability, succession, corporate governance, and strategy. With over 20 years of experience across local and international board-level and senior management roles, he has served diverse sectors including hospitality, financial services, FMCG, agribusiness, professional membership organizations, and education.
He holds a BA (Hons) and MBA from the University of Nairobi and is completing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at USIU-Africa. He is an alumni of Columbia Business School’s doctoral program, trained by the Balanced Scorecard Institute (USA), and certified by IESE Business School (Spain) as an executive leadership trainer. He is also a member of the Family Firm Institute (USA) and the Institute of Directors (Kenya), and a certified IFC/World Bank corporate governance trainer.
Paul has held leadership roles at Strathmore Business School, including Academic Director and MBA Programs Director, where he developed the highly regarded Family Business Executive Program. His consultancy, training, and coaching work spans Africa and Europe, and he is currently the Principal Consultant at the Institute for Family Business (IFFB), focusing on corporate governance, strategy, negotiation, conflict management, succession planning, and wealth management. Based in Nairobi, he is a dedicated reader, sports enthusiast, and golfer.
