Business Development Executive / Sales Executive

Job Purpose


We are looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented Business Development
Executive to sell professional services and corporate training programs. This is a
B2B business development role, and the job holder will be expected to prospect
and find new business clients, retain the existing clients, pitch learning solutions
to decision-makers and partners and close training sales programs. The goal is to
connect company needs with the right skill-building programs, helping
organizations improve their teams` talent while driving revenue growth.

The job holder will report to the Head of Business Development.


Relationships and Contacts

• The CEO and Head of Business Development.
• Events and Programs Administrator.
• Talent Partners across different sectors, nationally and regionally.
• Faculty and Consultants.
• Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies.
• Service providers to the various programs.
• Collaborative partners and partner training organizations.

• Interdepartmental relationships with colleagues across the company. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Sales & Prospecting
• Find and qualify new B2B clients (corporates, SMEs, NGOs, and
institutions).
• Using various techniques and networks to build a strong sales pipeline.
• Set up meetings with human resources, learning & development directors,
and business owners.
• Programs selling and marketing activities, identifying, following up and
converting sales leads aimed at generating participants for programs.
• Maintaining and developing relationships with new and existing clients
for new and repeat business and supporting industry linkages so that
they continue to use our company as their knowledge partner.
• Participate in networking activities to generate leads for conversion.
• Use social media platforms to generate leads for conversion.
• Participate and support promotional activations and events to generate
leads.
• Prepare and confirm participants list for training programs.

Pitching & Solution Selling
• Facilitating training needs assessments with clients to understand their
skills gaps.
• Deliver engaging presentations and custom training proposals.
• Match the IFFB company training catalogues (leadership, technical skills,
sales, customer service) to client goals.

Account Management
• Build long-term relationships with corporate clients.
• Secure repeat training contracts and upselling advanced programs.
• Coordinate with the internal training delivery team especially the program
administrators and the faculty to ensure client satisfaction.

Proposals and Reporting
• Track and update all leads, meetings, and deals with the company CRM
software.
• Report on weekly and monthly sales progress against targets.
• Develop presentations and proposals to prospective clients and partners.
• Track and analyse sales data, providing regular reports and insights to the
management team.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure
revenue performance and effectiveness.

Budgets
• Report activity schedules and plans, maintain program expenditures
within budget parameters and achieve program revenue goals.
• Continually devise ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen
client/partner relationships and maintain lasting client and partner

relationships. 

Competencies & Qualifications


Experience: 2 to 3 years in B2B sales, business development, or selling
intangible services/education. Strong sales and negotiation skills with
proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Budgets/Target: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in preparing
and monitoring budgets
Education: Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing,
Communications, or a related field.
Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation abilities,
analytical and close-detail oriented, team player and good networking
skills.
Personality: A team player with high proactivity, excellent organizational
skills, high creativity and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively
research new emerging market opportunities.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using CRM tools, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Office.

• Languages: Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
